Glendalough House, on several hundred acres of woodlands
and pastures in Annamoe, Co. Wicklow, has a cherished and memorable history. It
was the former home of Robert Barton who was the last signatory to the 1921 Treaty
and Erskine R. Childers, who was arrested at this house and executed in November
1922 for possession of a revolver given to him by that great Irishman Michael
Collins as a keepsake. In recent years, Glendalough House
has been tastefully restored to its former glory and has played host to many Hollywood
celebrities who enjoy the privacy and tranquility of this historic Georgian house.
The Estate is regularly used as a film location. Glendalough
House offers its guests a wonderful stay. The house can be rented weekly or weekends
for private parties, weddings etc. on a fully-staffed or self-catering basis.
Guests are invited to stroll and enjoy the serenity of Glendalough's five acre
water garden designed with ponds and waterfalls and planted with rare shrubs and
water lilies. |
